Obituary for Jeremy Cupit

Jeremy R. Cupit, in his 45th year, passed away unexpectedly of natural
causes on March 12, 2016 during a skiing trip with friends in Breckenridge,
Colorado.

Jeremy was born in Carbondale, Illinois, on April 21, 1971 and grew up in
Harris, Minnesota. He attended Rush City Schools, graduating in 1989.
He then moved to Manitou Springs, Colorado, where he continued his
education, graduating in computer science from UCCS. He began his
professional career and taught parttime at a community college in
Colorado Springs while working on his Master’s Degree. At the time of his
death, Jeremy was a longtime and valued senior employee of Wells Fargo
Bank, working in web design and programming.

He is survived by: his son, Connor 17; his daughter, Chloe 13; his mother,
Sharon Cupit; his sister, Statia Cupit and her son, Logan, all of Manitou
Springs, Colorado; his father, Bob, and stepmother, Gayle Cupit, of Harris,
Minnesota; and, uncles and aunts, Richard and Cindy Smiley of
Indianapolis, Indiana, and Tom and Terry Smiley of San Antonio, Texas.
He is also survived by his former wife, Wendy Cupit of Manitou Springs,
and sisterinlaw and brotherinlaw, Alie and Tom Alexander, and their two
sons of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Jeremy is also sadly missed by many extended family members and
wonderful Manitou Springs friends, as well as his close childhood friends,
Chad Zmuda of Harris, Minnesota, and Salem Heller of Denver, Colorado.

He enjoyed playing hockey, skiing, hunting, and fishing, and he surprised
many with the excellent craft beer brewing skills he developed with friends
in the last few years.

Jeremy was an incredible father, loving and loved by his children who were
always first in his heart. He was also a true and supportive friend to all who
knew him.
