Obituary for Clarice Darlene Shockley (Myers)

Clarice Darlene Shockley, 83, of Colorado Springs, CO, died May 17, 2016, at her home after a brief illness. Daughter of Marvin H. and Ethel Myers, Clarice was born on April 15, 1933, in Marquand, MO. She married Lanny Wray Shockley on August 31, 1957, in St. Louis, MO, and started a family two years later. After living in Missouri, the family lived in San Diego, CA, for five years before settling in Colorado in 1973.

She is survived by her two sons, Mark and Tim, Tim's partner Natalie, daughter Cindy Gault and her husband Bob, daughter Kelly Eastlund and her husband Philip (Beau). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jolene Dickerson and her husband Cary, Taylor Gault, Jesse Gault, and Haley Shockley, as well as two great-grandchildren, Dezlyn and Kashdyn Dickerson. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Lanny Shockley in 1993 and her grandson, Daniel Eastlund in 1990, as well as her three sisters and two brothers.

Clarice worked as a secretary in St. Louis for several years until she married. No mother ever loved her children more, and she delighted in cooking delicious meals, sewing, reading, bowling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
