Obituary for Spencer Allen Simco

Spencer Allen Simco departed this life October 24, 2017. He was born May 19, 1940 in Colorado Springs at St. Francis Hospital and lived here his entire life except for the two years of his military service.

He is survived by his partner of 50 years, James E. Jarvis, favorite nieces, Susan Hrdlichka and Jill Bennett, sister-in-law, Debbie Simco, and other relatives, as well as special friends, Cliff, Bev, Dusty, and Lucy.

He was the seventh of ten children born to Gladys and Dave Simco and the last to leave this world. During and after high school he worked at various grocery stores and always very popular with customers and fellow employees and was rapidly promoted along. Later on he became successful in the restaurant business and other enterprises. He sold Christmas trees and landscaping at his home on West Uintah Street. He also was a champion of the elderly, providing care and assistance to friends and those in need of help. He also arranged his life so he could care for his mother for the last eight years of her life. He was a very dear and special person and will never be forgotten by those who knew him.

A funeral service will be held, Monday, October 30, 2017, 11:00AM at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80904. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.
