Obituary for Rodney Lee Carter

Rodney Lee Carter age 47 of Calhan went to meet his maker on August 29, 2015. His family and friends remember him as a kind hearted, hard working man who will be dearly missed. Rod never passed up an opportunity to help others, always just a phone call away. Above all else, he loved his family and took great pride in their accomplishments. Rodney dedicated his life to working with horses as a trainer, farrier, and participated as a cattleman in the National Versatility Ranch Horse Association.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Kelly Kartchner Carter, of Calhan, son, Bryan Eugene Baker of Ft. Collins, daughter, Jerica Lee Carter (James) Brunson and granddaughter, Jaylyn, of Anchorage, AK., son Rieley Pratt Carter of Calhan, and daughter, Sawyer Rose Carter, of Calhan, mother Nadine Steele Carter of Kansas City, formerly Lamar, sister Kathy (Rick) McCorkle, of Lamar, and sister Tammy (Joey) Condon of Kansas City, MO.

He was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Carter and brothers, Walter and Terry.
