Obituary for Annabelle Hinton Mason Walker

Annabelle was born on April 20, 1925 and passed on to heaven on August 26, 2022 at 97 years old.
She was a faithful lover of God, disciple of Christ, devoted wife / mother / grandmother/ great-grandmother. She inspired her family, friends, church, neighbors, and many others. We will miss her!

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Jesse M. Hinton and Ena Lou Newberry Hinton, Annabelle moved to Houston Texas where she worked at the War Assets Administration (WAA) after WWII. While working at WAA she met and married Wayne Mason in 1947. The happy couple moved to Sherman Texas and eventually Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1956. In November 1960, with 3 children (Susan, Jess and James Mason), the family moved Petaluma CA. They subsequently moved to Madison WI, Panama City FL, Montgomery AL, Belton MO, and finally back to Colorado Springs CO in January, 1970. Annabelle was a stay-at-home mother until her children were in high school when she returned to work as an executive secretary at Peterson AFB. She retired in 1990.

Annabelle is survived by her 3 children Susan (Jerry) Freel, Jess Mason and James (Patty) Mason and her sister Naomi (Rollin) Lord as well as her niece Laura (Gene) McCleskey . Annabelle has 9 grandchildren: Keith Frisbie, Elise Shahan, Cheri Owen, Melanie Nussbaumer, Kellee Overholser, Leah Balsterholt, Mariah Mason, Matthew Mason and Marissa Mason. She has 18 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Colorado Springs on September 9, 2022, at 10am.
