Catalina (Cati) S. Lucero, 91, transitioned from this life to the next on Monday, 11 January 2021. Wife, mother, and homemaker, Cati is preceded by her husband of 52 years, John L. Lucero Sr.
As a Parishioner of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church of Colorado Springs and the wife of an active-duty service man and later a veteran of the United States Air Force, Cati's life was one of hospitality, dedication, service, and change. Change was an integral part of life - not only physical residence but of life itself. Being preceded in death by her husband, John in 2006, was a change that appeared to be her most difficult. Yet, as in most things, her faith and hope remained in her daily walk with her loved ones and her God.
Cati is survived by sons: Vern O’Loane of Calera, Alabama; John (Karen) Lucero, Jr. of Derby, Kansas; Richard Lucero of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Robert (Sherri) Lucero of Aurora, Colorado; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; brothers, Tito (Mary) Sida, Lalo Sida, and Ysabel Sida.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Judith M. Fair; son, Steven T. Lucero; and her parents, Manuel Sida and Juanita (Zapata) Linan.
Services will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home and burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave Suite 660, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
