Obituary for Debra Lynn Gardner

Debra Gardner, 64, of Colorado Springs, CO died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Penrose Hospital after complications of pneumonia. She was the example of love, compassion and understanding, to both people and animals alike. Debbie cared for her family and friends with all of her heart and would give the shirt off her back if she could to anyone. She left a mark in this world and on everyone she knew, whether it be a family member, a friend, a stranger on the street or an animal in need. She would find the best in anyone and you wouldn't even have needed to have know her to be infected by her contagious smile, laughter, and positive energy that shined as bright as the sun.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Gardner, her mother, Della Gardner; and her sister, Renee Gardner-Bapte.

She is survived by her significant other, Richard Rockers and his family; her children & their spouses, Derrick (Mallory) Leiting, Danielle (Luke) Pickering, DeAnna Leiting (Zach Lichtenberger); grandchildren Kourtney & Beckham Pickering, all of Colorado Springs; her siblings, sister & brother-in-law Cindy (Bill) Flanagan of Colorado Springs, sister & brother-in-law Sheila (Norman) Murphy of Colorado Springs, brother Gary Gardner of Clearwater, FL, brother Harry Gardner of Breckenridge, brother & sister-in-law James (Lynn) Gardner of Summerville, SC, brother & sister-in-law Randy (Julia) Gardner of Guffey, CO, sister & brother-in-law Teresa (Brad) Metts of Colorado Springs, sister & brother-in-law Tricia (Andy) Gonzalez of Fredericksburg, VA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be set at a later date. Until then, live life as Debbie would, see the positive in everything that happens and cheers to today!
