Obituary for Donald Holifield

Donald (Don) B. Holifield, 90, a proud veteran of the United States Army,
passed away November 23, 2022, at his home in Colorado Springs.
Donald was enlisted in the U.S. Army and had 22 years of dedicated
service to his country with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He served in
the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, as well as in Germany, Thailand,
and installations throughout the United States. Don was a Past Master of
the Fountain Valley Masonic Lodge 191 and Victor Lodge 99, and a
member of the VFW Post 3917 in Fountain Valley. Don received many
awards for his bravery and heroism throughout his military career, one of
which was the Bronze Star.
A devoted husband of sixty years to Hildegard who preceded him in death;
he is survived by his four children: daughter Margit (Len) Lukach, sons
Donald, Mike, and Gene (Pamela); five grandchildren and five great
grandchildren, his second wife Emily and her son. Don is also survived by
a brother (J.B. Bass) and sister (Brenda McClure) in Mississippi and a
sister (Billie Murphy) in Louisiana. Don will be remembered by his love for
his country and his family.
