Obituary for Donald Wayne Weckman Sr.

Donald Weckman Sr. departed this life on April, 2, 2021, to spend eternity with Jesus in his heavenly home. Don was born on October 12, 1939, in Collinsville, Illinois to Frank and Myrl Weckman.

Upon graduation from Collinsville High School in June 1957, Don enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He remained very proud of his military service and dearly loved this country. Don worked at the USAFA in HVAC from 1972 thru 1996 at which time he transferred to Peterson AFB in the same trade, until his retirement in 2002.

Until his health severely deteriorated, Don loved to give his time to help those in need of his mechanical experience. He donated hundreds of hours of labor in local churches as well as missions’ trips to Mexico City, Costa Rica, Yugoslavia, Wyoming, and Arizona

Don was preceded in death by his wife Kay (Curtis) Weckman; his son Don Weckman Jr.; his sisters Lois Graham, Yvonne Broyles, Janice Martin, and a brother Robert Weckman.

Don is survived by his son Randall Weckman; daughter Lynda (Weckman) Vines and 6 grandchildren.

Due to COVID restrictions, private services will be held. Don will be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
