Obituary for Edmund Rael
Edmund “Ron” Rael 73, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away unexpectedly, January 4, 2021.
He was born to Henry Joe and Laura Rael. Edmund attended Canon City High School and then joined the Army. Upon return, he met and married the love of his life, Isabell, on June 26, 1971.
Edmund worked for the Colorado Department of Corrections for 9 years and retired in 2009.
He was known as a jokester, always up for a good laugh. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, word finds and visiting all the neighbors.
Edmund is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Joe Rael and Laura Rael, and son Henry Rael.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Isabell (Canchola) Rael; daughter, Maria Rael; grandchildren, David Rael, Tanya (Devin) Abeyta, Enrique Rael, Angelo Rael, Daycian Rael, Donovan Rael, Morgan Linam, DJ Linam and Jackson Linam; great grandchildren, Gaia Abeyta and Eros Abeyta; and Godson, Brian Atencio.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Canon Community Baptist Church, 1111 Monroe Ave., Canon City, Colorado at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mountain Vale Memorial Park immediately following the service.
