Obituary for Eugene Franklin McDaniel
Eugene F. McDaniel, 81, of Peyton, Colorado passed away October 8, 2022.
Eugene was born September 25, 1941 in Milledgeville, Georgia to William F. McDaniel and Anna Pearl Vinson McDaniel.
Eugene was a kind soft-spoken man that dedicated his life to serving others as a member of the Milledgeville Fire Department. As Battallion Chief, he trained many firefighters that firmly believe he was the best of the best. Eugene was an outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hiking, camping and traveling. He found his niche for enjoying retirement square dancing and trout fishing. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his only son, Mark McDaniel (Charline); grandchildren, Heather and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Trinity Grace, Ethan Robert James, and Tyana Rose and several nieces and nephews.
Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Annie Pearl McDaniel, brother, James (Jack) McDaniel, brother Billy McDaniel and half-sister, Martha (McDaniel) Watts.
Services will be held at Holt Family Funeral Home 806 Macon Ave., Canon City, Colorado 81212 at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 17, 2022.
