Obituary for Frances Pauline Wiesner

Fran Wiesner, age 95, passed away at Penrose St. Francis, Pikes Peak Hospice Care, Colorado Springs, Colorado on March 5, 2022. She was born October 9, 1926, in Independence, Missouri to Bill & Ethel Barker. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1943.
Fran married Harold D. Anderson in Macon, Missouri in 1943. She worked for the IRS, Western Electric, and the Blue Springs Campus in Kansas City, Missouri.
Her parents preceded her in death; also, stepfather, Larry L. Veuleman; her 2nd husband Albert Wiesner; son, Joseph Wiesner; daughter Barbara Smith; and 3 grandchildren, Colin Kelley, Joey Bosley, and Mikki Tillotson.
Survivors include brother, Larry L. Veuleman Jr. and his wife Joyce of Lincoln, Missouri, five daughters, Gloria Jean Hansen and her husband Dennis, Blackfoot, Idaho; Connie K. Davis, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Carol J. Starnes and her husband Richard, Aurora, Colorado; Katherine Little and her husband Larry, Buckner, Missouri; Christine Bosley and her husband Tracy, Buckner, Missouri, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.

Fran was from a musical family, learning to play the guitar at the age of 5 and how to sing and yodel at the age of 6. She loved country and western music and sang with Fred Underwood’s Band, The Missouri Troubadours from 1957 to 1964 in the Kansas City area. Fran was a very independent and enthusiastic woman who loved to travel. She learned to ski in the Colorado mountains and moved to Frisco, Colorado in 1993 where she enjoyed hiking, snow shoeing and river rafting. She volunteered at the Summit County Chamber of Commerce in the Frisco Visitors Center until she moved to Colorado Springs in 2000.

Fran touched the hearts of so many people with her love, humor, and musical talent. Her Christian faith, family, children, and music were the driving forces which kept her going. After Fred Underwood’s wife passed away, Fred moved to Colorado in 1998 and he and Fran started singing together again as the Missouri Troubadour’s Fred and Fran in 2000. They performed at Blossom’s Day in Canon City, the Colorado State Fair, 50’s West in Pueblo and various Guest Ranches and Senior Centers around Colorado. Fran recorded a Gospel CD for her family and friends and today her spirit and voice still ring out with the angels from heaven. God has one more beautiful singer in his choir.
