Obituary for Glovina Kramer

Glovina Arlene Kramer was born March 21, 1930 in West Cameron, PA. Her parents were Mazie
and Richard Kramer. There were seven children, but two boys died when they were 2 1/2 years and 1
year old. They were the two oldest and so, of course, she never saw them. Her other siblings were 2
brothers and 2 sisters. She was the youngest.

Her mother passed away when she was 19--the year after she came to the People's Bible
College in 1948. Those first years were very difficult with persecution from home, but the Lord helped
her through those times.

She attended a Lutheran Sunday School when she was young. She also went to a United
Brethren Church at times. She felt she was saved at the altar in that church when she was eight. Without
much help at home, that was soon lost, but not forgotten. Later, at the age of 15, she was saved in the
Pilgrim Holiness church at Rebuck, PA. She wanted to go to Bible School then, but was not allowed to
until she graduated from High School.

She spent 6 years at People's Bible College from September 1948 until 1954 when she
graduated from college. It took 6 years because she had to work to pay her way. They were good years
of the Lord's help and dealings to her heart.

She was asked to teach in the smaller Bible Schools in different states. She taught 23 years - 3 in
Hunter, KS; 1 in Logansport, IN; 4 in Alliance, OH; 2 in Newton Falls, OH; 6 in New Philadelphia, OH; 2 in
Watertown, SD; 5 in Shubert, NE. She taught almost a year in Colorado Springs in college. That was
definitely not her calling.

When teaching in New Philadelphia, OH, she attended Kent State University summer and night
school several years, part of the time teaching 6 grades as well. Some classes were in Canton, about 25
miles away, and she had to drive the pastor's or Brother Underwood's car which was not an easy thing to do, especially late at night. After getting good grades, they finally accepted her work in Colorado
Springs. She got a Bachelor of Science degree in 1969 from Kent State, This enabled her to get teaching
certificates for OH, NE, and SD.

She quit teaching in 1976. She worked for Mrs. Grace Nelson for 15 years and retired in 1996.
Glovina lived in Colorado Springs in the dormitory at Butler Hall in the summer times when she
was teaching. She lived at Pleasant View the last 46 years. She was the last survivor of her immediate
family.
