Obituary for Huldah Lucille "Lu" Freeman

Lu departed this life for her heavenly home on May 13, 2024. She was born in southeast Missouri to Rueben and Hazel Kitchen but spent most of her life in Colorado Springs after the family relocated here. Lu was married for over 50 years to SFC Raymond “Ray” Freeman (US Army). They spent time stationed in Germany, Georgia, and Virginia before retiring back to Colorado Springs in the early 1990’s.

Lu was best known for her warm, sweet demeanor and her strong faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. She was active in church through her life in teaching, singing, children’s ministry, and ladies ministry. She greatly loved and cherished her family and friends.

Lu is survived by her children, Donald Paris of Colorado Springs, and Barbara Welborn of Monument; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, and her sister, Carolyn Robinson, of Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray, and two of her children, Robert (Bob) Paris of Colorado Springs, and Connie Coalson of Hopewell, Virginia.

Services will be held Monday May 20th at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation at 10:00am, service at 11:00am. She’ll be laid to rest following at Evergreen Cemetery.
