Obituary for Irene Mary Pawlak

Irene Mary Pawlak died in her home on March 3, 2021. She was born Dec. 3, 1928 to Vincent and Mary Czapla in Detroit, Michigan, and is survived by her daughter Elaine Moisan; granddaughter Rose Moisan; sisters Phyllis Gliganich, Mary Ann and brother-on-law Richard Kwiatkowski. She is preceded in death by sister Genevieve, brother Ted and his wife Celia, brother-in-law Richard Gliganich, and her husband Ron.

She married her beloved husband, Ronald Pawlak (USAF Lt. Col. retired) in 1950, and travelled all over the U.S and Europe with the Air Force from Hamtramck to Paris. Being an Air Force wife gave her adventures she never would have otherwise experienced. She volunteered for the Officer’s Wives’ Club at every base, as well as Girl Scouts, District 11 schools, and the Episcopal Church. She was an active part of every community that she lived in, and a good neighbor.

Her ashes will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery next to Ron. In lieu of flowers, Irene asked that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
