Obituary for Iva Ruth "Ruth" Moncada (Watson )
Ruth was born on Feb 13, 1938, in Iuka, Mississippi to Harris and Donnie Watson. She graduated from Iuka High School in May 1957. She went to college after high school in Memphis, Tennessee, and worked in Memphis before returning back to Iuka, Mississippi to care her mother, Donnie. Ruth moved to El Paso, Texas to be with her sister, Josephine Torres after her mother’s death, in 1962.
On May 28, 1966, she married Ramiro Moncada, Sr., at The United Pentecostal Church in El Paso, Texas. They raised three beautiful children, Rachel, Ramiro Junior, and Naomi. Ruth retired from working several years and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2003 to be with her children and grandchildren.
Ruth was a devoted Jesus follower, a prayer warrior and dedicated her life to the Lord. Ruth accepted Jesus Christ when she was 16 years old at a Pentecostal Revival in Mississippi and followed it till her death. She was faithful, kind, generous and willing to help others in need. She was succinct and humorous. She was charismatic, gentle, giving, virtuous all of her days. She loved to spend time with her family and her church where she served.
Ruth is survived by her children, Rachel King McCormick (David), Ramiro Moncada, Junior (Michelle) and Naomi Mages (Eric), her grandchildren, Tifani King Martin (Justin), Mackenzie,King Joshua Mages, Caleb Mages, Rianah Moncada, Joelle Moncada, Briar Swagger (Katie), Kassidy DeMarrais, Haley DeMarrais, Zachary DeMarrais, and her PRIDE and JOY great grandchildren, Sophia Martin and Myla Martin and her sister, Josephine Torres and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ramiro Moncada Sr., her parents, and her siblings.
