Obituary for John Samuel McNeal Jr.

John Samuel McNeal Jr., 65, gained his wings at his home on Monday February 15, 2021, in Colorado Springs.

He was born on April 24, 1955, in Germany, to Army Veteran John Samuel McNeal and Myrtle Faye McNeal. John has six siblings from oldest to youngest: Michael McNeal, wife, Yoko McNeal; Cassandra McNeal; Lisa Davis, husband, Hymie Webster; Earl McNeal, wife, Rose McNeal; Lutisha McNeal-Perkins; Walter Black, wife, Mary Black. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Lisa, Jamie, Delena, Marcus, Samitra, Justin, David, Tony, Nicole, Quincy, Crystal, Davina, Desmond, Theo and many, many great-nieces and great-nephews.

John lived and loved life to the fullest! He was known for his kind heart, sympathy, honesty, and love for his family and friends. He was the first person to call everyone on birthdays and holidays! John was a very giving man and gave from the heart without expecting anything in return. He loved his cat Smokey and when you saw one, you saw the other.

The passing of John is a tremendous loss to all of his family and friends. His light will still shine bright as the sun each day and his memory will also hold a keepsake in our hearts. We will miss his early morning phones calls, birthday wishes, kindness and laughter. However, those were the exact things that made him unique!

He is preceded in death by his father, John Samuel McNeal; his mother, Myrtle Faye McNeal; his sisters, Cassandra McNeal and Lutisha McNeal-Perkins.
