Obituary for Jose Jesus Gonzalez

Jose Jesus Gonzalez (Chewy), 91, passed away peacefully March 19, 2021 after a brief illness, in the family home surrounded by his family in Colorado Springs.

Jose’s life began July 14, 1929 in Pueblo, Colorado with parents Miguel and Concepcion Gonzalez. Following graduation from Central High School in Pueblo, Jose joined the Navy, proudly serving in the Korean War. Jose worked for the United State Government for 25 years as a computer programmer in Colorado Springs. In his retirement he followed his passion for woodworking and spent many hours in his workshop. Jose also enjoyed leather work, archery and watching classic westerns. He was an avid Denver Bronco fan before they became Super Bowl Champions and he enjoyed attending home games and tailgating where he was quick to share a beer, a shot or turkey drumstick with newly made friends wearing Bronco colors.
