June Beverly Meyer Worlton, 92, of Bountiful, Utah passed away on July 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at the Colorado Healthcare Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado. June was born on June 13, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Johannes Martinus Hendrik Meyer and Lena Johanna Hendrika Wielders.
She graduated from Davis High School in 1948. After high school, June loved to sing and share her voice as part of the Melody Maids choir. The Melody Maids travelled across Utah and sang at many events. This continued throughout her life as she volunteered her time at church, leading the congregation in song, as well as the primary children. She adored her parents and siblings and was the only surviving daughter among 4 brothers. June always had a very positive and cheery outlook on life and could easily put a smile on anyone’s face. She was always fondly remembered as a sweet person by all who met her.
She married James T. Worlton Jr. on September 3, 1954, and worked to help put Jim through medical school. They lived in Rochester, Minnesota, San Franciso, California, and the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona among other cities before settling down in Colorado Springs. They raised 3 children, Jim, Julie, and Jeff, in their home on Crown Ridge Drive since 1963. June and Jim travelled extensively throughout the world. Mom’s favorite trip was to Paris, France (as she adored the beauty of the city, the flowers throughout, and the locals). June always loved the view of Pikes Peak from her living room window and never took for granted the beauty of the mountains.
June is preceded in death by her former husband Jim, her son John, her parents Johannes and Lena, her 2 sisters, JoAnne Lena Meyer and Christina Meyer and her brothers Joe Meyer and Don Meyer. June is survived by her brothers Bruce Meyer (Pat) and David Meyer (Bernice), her children, Jim Worlton (Susie), Julie Potter (Dan), Jeff Worlton (Michelle) and 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing held at 9:00AM and funeral services at 10AM on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 5375 Centennial Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80919. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all of the family, friends and neighbors for all of their help, love, concern and prayers during June’s journey through her life.
