Leon Jones was born on September 10, 1930 to Vandella Fisher and Odie Conner. Leon left this life on December 14, 2020.
He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married Jacene Moses on April 18, 1950 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He joined the United States Army in 1951 and served for over 25 years. Afterwards, he earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Pikes Peak Community College and worked as a Correctional Officer for 15 years. Leon and Jacene raised 11 children together.
He was preceded in death by three children: Odie Leon, Jacene Mack, Angelia Colbert, and his wife, Jacene. He is survived by children: Gwendolyn Jones, Carrie Williams, Ronald Jones, Sophia Jones, Elizabeth Bailey, Cedric Jones, Leone Jones, Tyrone Jones, and a host of grand and great-grandchildren.
Leon loved cooking, entertaining family and friends, picnics in the park and just enjoying the city of Colorado Springs as it grew. He also enjoyed watching football games with his beloved wife, Weewee.
Leon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
