Obituary for Lillian L. Haynes

Lillian Lennon Haynes, 100, of Colorado Springs, died Sepember. 13th at the home of her daughter.

She was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania December 1919 to the late Victor Leroy Lennon and Mae Lillian Johnson Lennon. She graduated from Richboro High School in 1938 and from The National School of Cosmeticians in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1939.

She married her high school sweetheart, the late Maj. Edward Haynes, in 1941. They began their military life together, including posts in the United States, Korea and Germany and finally retiring in Colorado Springs in 1958.

Lillian enjoyed many things in life including, painting, playing the piano, camping and was an avid bird watcher. She was a longtime member of St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Lillian is preceded in death by her son Edward Haynes Jr. (Buzzy) and grandson, Justin Haynes. She is survived by five children: Jan Pinello (the late RL Pinello), of Calhan; Suzanne Long (Col. John Long), of New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania; William Haynes (Deanna Haynes) of Pueblo; Lloyd Haynes and Eloise McDaniel (Col. Philip McDaniel), of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Lillian lived a long and full life and she will be greatly missed.
