Maxwell C Buckridge received the call to come home because he earned his wings on October 4, 2020 surrounded by his 2 loving sons and 2 lifelong friends.

Max was born September 21, 1942 to Michael Gregory and Betty Buckridge in Greeley, Colorado. Max was a lifelong resident of Colorado, graduating from Colorado Springs High School in 1960. He was always - for all his life - proud to call himself a Terror.

After graduation he entered the US Navy, proudly serving on the USS Roosevelt for 3 years until an accident on board forced him to be honorably discharged a year early. Upon coming home, he met the love of his life, Rojean Tyma. They were married 2 years later and spent 55 years together. Max always said that the greatest accomplishment in his life were his 2 sons, Sean and Bret. Max had several accomplishments in his life, proudly having a 35 -year sobriety affiliation with Alcoholics Anonymous. Max mentored hundreds of people struggling with their addiction and was always a phone call away if they needed help any time day or night. He would always be there for advice, a hot cup of coffee and a smoke. He was an avid fan of the game of golf as well as a fan of the Rockies and the Broncos.

His love of golf always bothered Rojean when she wanted to go to church on Sunday, as Max would always tell her that the golf course was his church. She finally caved in and became the official driver of the cart. Max always had to play at the crack of dawn to get home just in time for his nap before 1st pitch or kickoff of the Rockies or Broncos game.

The only thing Max loved more than sports was his family. He loved his wife Rojean for 55+ years. He loved his sons, Sean and Bret, otherwise known as "Chewie" and "Mouse" and later as "Sammy" and "Phoetus". He was blessed with 4 grandchildren: Ashley, Alex, Morgan and Madison, as well as a great grandson, Callen. None of his family ever wanted or needed anything as "Big Max" or "Papa" always made sure that the kids always had money in their pockets for anything they wanted, even if it was his last dollar.
Max will be sorely missed by all his family and hundreds of friends. He always made such a positive impact on so many lives. Everyone always had a funny "Big Max" story to tell.

Services are being postponed until late Spring or early Summer due to the current pandemic that hopefully slows down. Max and Rojean will be interred together at a military cemetery with military honors as Max served our country with honor and was a 90% disabled veteran. Once all arrangements have been completed with a date and time, notifications will be sent out for all who wish to attend.

Thank you for all the love and prayers that have been sent to us in our time of grief. Don't worry Max... God gives you all the Mulligans you want as long as you don't lie on the scorecard.
