Obituary for Miyoko Avery

Miyoko Sandy Avery was born in Itsukaichi, Japan on September 12, 1927. She had peacefully entered into God’s Kingdom on August 24, 2020. Her battle with Alzheimer’s had finally ended; no more pain and suffering: Come to me, my weary one, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Miyoko had resided in Itsukaichi, Japan with her mother, Tome’ Sato (deceased); her father, Jintaro Sato (deceased) and her sister, Kazue’ Sato (deceased). Her childhood in Japan was mostly picture-perfect. Her family ran a successful restaurant business from the downstairs of their house. Unfortunately, she had suffered tragedy during the war, which was only the beginning of her resiliency and strength to persevere throughout her adult life.

Mom had later met and married our father, Charles Orion Avery, while he was stationed in Japan. Mom and dad had been married for almost 63 years keeping their marriage vows sacred and true before dad’s passing last year on September 13, 2019 from Dementia as well. Together, they had 5 children: Karl Avery, deceased in 1967; Alan Avery, Gloria Burnett, Diana Botz and Cornelius Avery. They also had 9 grandchildren, Michael, Analysia, Noelani, Raja, Nicole, Katrina, Alana, Donovan and Jannike with 12 great grandchildren who all love them so much and will miss them, always. Their physical life together was an amazing gift, but their spiritual life together is a treasure of infinite value. Because you belong to Me, you will live with Me forever, enjoying a glorified body that will never get sick or tired. Colossians 1:16

Our most beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother was one of the most humble, loving, kind, generous, thoughtful and caring spirits that we will all greatly miss. Thank you for your never-failing, unconditional love. As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you. Isaiah 66:13
