Robert David Kwiatkowski (Bob), 69, joined his Heavenly Father on Sunday February 7, 2021, from his home in Colorado Springs. He was born on January 9, 1952, in Melrose Park, Illinois, the first born child of Edward Kwiatkowski and Gertrude Pudlo. He married Donna Denise Frazier-Kwiatkowski (Dee Dee) on July 11, 1981, in Gruver, Texas.
Bob attended St. Teribius Grammer School and Hubbard High School in Chicago, Illinois, graduating in 1970. He attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, for 2 years before enlisting in the United States Army in 1973. Bob served his country for 24 years retiring in 1997 reaching the rank of Master Sergeant. His duty stations included Frankfurt, Germany; Fort Ord, California; Fort Carson, Colorado; Fort Sam, Houston, Texas; Landstuhl Army Medical Center, Germany; and finally, Ft. Stewart, Georgia. Bob was most proud of earning his Expert Field Medic Badge while stationed at Ft. Carson.
After retiring from the U. S. Army, Bob continued his college education earning an Associate’s degree from Pikes Peak Community College, and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Colorado Christian University in education. He began a second career as corporate trainer and educator before retiring for the second and final time in 2014.
Bob’s love for people and those who served our country led him to volunteering as Chaplain and Mentor for The Retired Enlisted Association, Veterans’ Council, and the Pikes Peak National Cemetery Committee. He also taught several years at the Soldiers Memorial Chapel Vacation Bible School and Adult Sunday School at Ft. Carson. At the time of his passing, he was serving as the President of the Parish Council for Faith Lutheran Church, Security, Colorado. He even got to preach some Sundays and during Advent and Lent services. He conducted many memorial services, funerals, and weddings for retired military soldiers and family members. Bob’s latest adventure was with Cowboy Action Shooting, attending many weekend competitions and a few conventions. He loved getting decked out in his cowboy gear.
He is survived by his wife, Dee Dee, of 39 ½ years; his mother-in-law, Bertie Frazier, of Amarillo, Texas; his three children: Robert (Deb) Kwiatkowski, and their children: Mac, Robbie, and Amber of Colorado Springs; John (Melissa) Kwiatkowski of Beaverton, Oregon; and Marli (Jerry) Kimberlin and their daughter, Pyper, of Abilene, Texas; and his siblings: Richard (Barbara) Kwiatkowski; Joan (Rich) Howaniec; and Joyce Cooley; and six nieces and nephews, and a special aunt, Rita (Larry) Johnson. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie (Bruce) Frazier Knight of Lubbock, Texas; his brother-in law and sister-in-law, Dr. Dustin (Debbie) Frazier of Abingdon, Virginia; sister-in-law, Diane Frazier Dacus of Borger, Texas; and seventeen nieces and nephews, along with many, many dear friends, especially Tom and Kathy Hendricks.
