Obituary for Sharon Diane Mauro
Sharon D. Mauro, 78, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died May 1 at home surrounded by family.
Shari was born August 17, 1942 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Ardeane and Jim Nimmo. On April 24, 1965, she married Albert (Butch) Mauro Jr. of Weston, Colorado. They had two daughters, Shauna and Holly.
Shari was dedicated to touching the life of every person she encountered. She especially made a difference in young people’s lives through her teaching and mentoring at School District 11, Divine Redeemer Catholic School, Myron Stratton Home, Woodland Park Elementary and Sylvan Learning Center.
Those who knew her would agree she was truly an angel on earth, doing God’s work with joy, love and a servant’s heart.
She is survived by her husband, Al; her daughter, Shauna of Southern California and her daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Scott of Colorado Springs.
Her funeral will be held on May 12 at 11:00am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, Shari requested that donations be made to Care & Share or any animal rescue.
