Thomas Wakely 82, of Colorado Springs passed away July 26, 2022. Thomas was born on July 9, 1940, in New York to the union of Louise Wakely and Daniel Wakely. Thomas married Hazel McDonald creating many beautiful memories before deciding to separate after 36 years.

Thomas was described by his family as a man of all trades. He had hundreds of hobbies and interests to keep himself busy throughout his life. Despite being struck by lightning twice, Thomas had a passion for mechanics and electric work. He was a handy man. One of his biggest accomplishments was building a vehicle from scratch with Junkyard parts.

Mr. Wakely was a very spontaneous man. This was proven when a road trip from Florida to California went unexpected. During the 1970’s the United States suffered an extreme gas shortage, during the Wakely’s road trip surprisingly enough, they ran out of gas. Thomas ended up walking many miles to get gas. During his free time, Thomas loved to play poker, bet on horse races, bowling, and listen to Elvis Presley. Out of everything, he absolutely loved making his family and friends laugh.

He leaves to cherish his memories to children Denise (Tony)Duenas, Alicia Ronas, Kathleen (Brian) Gagnon, Thomas (Jennifer)Wakely, nine grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

His laughter will be missed by many other family members and friends.
