On March 3, 2020, Wesley Simmons went home to be with the Lord. Wes was known in the Colorado Springs community as the owner and operator of Bon Shoe Repair for nearly 40 years, but he was so much more. He spent time with every customer, whether it was to be a witness of God's love, to console, or deliver a happy message or joke. He would not hesitate to encourage and pray with them in whatever struggle they would be going through. Wes was deeply loved by his family and community. He will be missed, but his beautiful spirit lives on in those he touched. The best way to honor Wes and what he would want, is for you to go forward and share his love and light with the world. Smile at a stranger, be a shoulder to those hurting, and be kind to everyone you meet. Wes is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Isaiah 54:10 ”The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end; I will keep forever my promise of peace.” So says the Lord who loves you.

Hello- I saw the printed pages for "In Loving Memory" in a recent Sunday paper. I happen to notice Wes' picture and learned he has gone to his reward. I was a customer of Bon Shoe Repair for over 25 years and I enjoyed talking about the Lord and His plans with Wes. He was such a craftsmen and a wonderful Christian man. When he closed the shop, I was so sad that I didn't get to tell him goodbye and best wishes. I have thought of him many times since the shop closed. I pray the Lord lifts your hearts with this recent loss . Heaven is going to be great and Wes was anxious to be there and his prayers are answered. I will pray for you all. Tammy Scott

I worked at Penrose Hospital for over 30 years and was a steady customer of Wes's as I ran my heels down running around at work. Soon my husband and colleagues became customers as well. There are few business owners that I remember so well and so fondly and I was deeply saddened to see that he had passed away. I just wanted you to know that he touched so many folks with his great service and friendly chit chat. He will be missed by many in Colorado Springs. Wishing your family comfort and peace with his loss.
