Obituary for William M. Ternosky

William M. Ternosky, 75, entered into eternal life March 22, 2020. He died following pulmonary and cardiac complications while at Penrose Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO.

He was born in Ft. Knox, Kentucky to Michael and Helen Ternosky, both of whom have preceded him in death. Growing up in Colorado Springs, Bill graduated from Wasson High School and then enlisted in the Navy for a 4-year tour on the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard CVA-31 aircraft carrier (1964-1968). After leaving the service, he stayed a few years in California, then returned to Colorado.

Household Finance Corporation was his first civilian employer, and Bill was the youngest Manager on record. Bill developed an interest in motorcycles and rode ‘Harleys’ most of his adult life. He was known to his buddies as “Mild Bill” and had a considerable group of friends and acquaintances. Martial arts played a huge role in his life as he trained extensively in the Japanese style of Shotokan and proudly achieved the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt. Bill continued on with his martial arts and, in his later years, taught classes at the local YMCA.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Anne and his brother, Jimmy, along with many relatives. He is Catholic with a deep root in his catholic faith. And now that Bill is on his way to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, we wish him safe passage into paradise. ‘May his soul rest in peace and may eternal light shine upon him.’

Bon Voyage, Mild Bill…
