Wilma Jean “Jeanie” Hanson, 94, went to be with our Lord on November 13, 2022. She passed away at her home in Colorado Springs. Jeanie was born May 17, 1928 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Samuel and Hazel Hergert. She was the eldest of 3 children. She married her high school sweetheart, Walt Hanson (deceased), on November 27, 1946, and they enjoyed nearly 65 years of life and love together. They had 3 children, Cathy Thomas, Becky Davis (deceased), and James Hanson. She was primarily a homemaker, where she partnered with her husband in his sales career representing Homemaker’s Guild Cookware and in later years selling real estate together. Her hobbies included spending time with family, attending weekly Bible studies, and playing games with friends. Her smile and joy lit up every room she entered, and her generosity and love for everyone around her will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her sister, Alice Wagner, her daughter, Cathy, her son, James (Brenda), 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way), and 1 great-great-granddaughter who was born the morning Jeanie stepped into Heaven.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jim, her husband, Walt, and her daughter, Becky.
