Whenever I think of Mamasita (my nickname for her), I think about her love of pink flowers. Every time she came to visit us in California, she'd ask the same question again and again: "What are those *pink* flowers called?" It didn't seem to matter how many times people told her the names of the flowers, she kept asking. I finally realized that this wasn't really a question she was asking -- it was her way at saying that she loved all pink flowers, and she wanted everyone to notice their beauty the way she did. I can't wait for all the pink flowers around here to be in bloom again. I'll know she's close by, and I'll try to appreciate flowers more!
