Obituary for Earline Edna Downey (Cooperrider)

Earline lived her life to bring joy into other people’s lives. She brightened the world with her laughter and caring heart. The love and passion she put into her many gardens always brought a smile to everyone who looked upon them. And, let’s not forget her loyalty and love for the Denver Broncos!!

Earline was an exceptional Art Teacher that inspired all of her students. She thought of them as her children rather than her students. She worked at Brockhurst Boy’s Ranch in Woodland Park, Colorado; Ellicot and Calhan Schools, and Bemis School of Art. After Earline retired from teaching, her students still kept in contact with her—she had a huge influence on their lives. She then built a very successful health supplement business while helping others to succeed.

Earline felt blessed to be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 27 years. She was never too busy to share her hope with a struggling alcoholic.

Her friends believed she was an angel sent from God to lift the spirits of those around her. She wanted to fix every bird with a broken wing. If you were blessed to have known Earline, she surely left an unforgettable mark on your heart.

Earline is survived by her husband of 37 years, Ernest Downey; her brother, Edward Cooperrider of Denver, Colorado, as well as many relatives and friends.
