Obituary for Ida Louise ""Lou"" Marshall (Williams)

Ida Louise Marshall lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado until her death on May 13, 2016. She was born in Columbus, Nebraska on March 11, 1935 to Harry and Elsie (Greiner) Williams. She was an English major at the University of Nebraska.

“Lou” married Charles Marshall on January 20, 1956 and had two children, C. Whitfield and Debra Louise. Her description of the joyous years of their growing up brought on a loving condition of “bleacher butt” from all their activities. She was also Vice President of the Bank of Verdigre, and instrumental in Verdigre’s receiving the 1972 “All American City” award, one of eleven in the USA that year.

The accidental death of C. Whit Marshall in 1984 was a devastating blow to the family.

Moving to Colorado Springs in 1986, Lou expressed her talent of making things beautiful as a gifted oil painter, and received awards from the Palmer Lake Art Group and others. Gardening was also a highlight of the beauty all around her.

She leaves her husband Charles, daughter Debra and granddaughter Anna Lu of Denver, who have been great sources of joy to her, and also many friends.
