Life Story for Marjorie S. Allbright (Salsbury)

Marjorie Allbright, 96, passed away May 20, 2016, in Colorado Springs, CO. Marjorie was born in Cherokee, IA, to Arthur Lee Salsbury and Lola Mae Clawson Salsbury. She attended Morningside College, Sioux City, IA. Marjorie married Charles S. Allbright in 1940 in Pocahontas, IA. Charles preceded her in death in 2010 after 69 years of marriage.
Marjorie was a homemaker, following her husband’s work assignments in Oklahoma and Wyoming. While in Dewey, OK, she taught piano and music theory and was active in American Field Service, hosting an exchange student from Argentina. Artistic talents included choir, sewing, painting, cross-stitching, card making and flower gardening. She was a member of First Christian Church, Bartlesville, OK; Grace Baptist Church, Laramie, WY; First United Methodist Church, Colorado Springs.
Survivors are daughter Lola Allbright Fuhrmann (Steve); three grandchildren—Christopher Allbright (Sarah), John Fuhrmann (fiancé Sara), Heidi Fuhrmann Laughlin (Eric); and four great grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by brother Robert, son Mark, and grandson Sean McIntosh.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 1, Lehmberg Chapel, First United Methodist Church, 420 N Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs.
