Barbara Carpenter died peacefully in her sleep on June 10th 2016, at Brookdale Bear Creek Care Facility, Colorado Springs. A lovely, classy, smart woman with a gentle soul and a gracious heart, Barbara was loved: by her family, her many friends in Manitou, Colorado Springs and Illinois, and most especially by her husband, Lou Carpenter, who survives her. She loved to read, to feed the birds and tend her garden, to make a beautiful home, to be involved in the life of her church, before serious illness limited her horizons. She was so generous and loving to us all. We feel such gratitude to have been her family.
