Obituary for Bob J Miller

Bob J Miller
Bob Miller passed away January 16, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was a long time resident of Falcon.
Robert James Miller was born February 22, 1944 in Denver, Colorado to George and Rose (Berndt) Miller. The youngest of 8 children, he was raised and attended school in Central City where he was active in sports, particularly basketball. He served his country in the United States Army First Infantry during the Vietnam era. In 1963 he met and married his wife, Ursula Gröger, while stationed in Germany. Together they built a life in the Colorado Springs area, where he became known as “Mr. Insurance”.
Bob worked tirelessly for 49 years in the insurance business and owned an independent agency. He was awarded “Agent of the Year” four times, “Agent of the Decade” (1981-1991), “App-a-Week Club”, “President’s Club”, and “Agent of the Month” countless times. He and Ursula enjoyed over a hundred vacations around the world that Bob earned achieving sales incentives.
Bob will be fondly remembered for his fund-raising work in charities. As a member of the Exchange Club of Falcon for ten years (serving as president for six years), he helped many worthwhile causes including “Child Abuse Prevention”, assistance to veterans in nursing homes, food and gifts for foster kids, and installation of “Freedom Shrines” promoting patriotism. Bob also served on the board of directors of Woodmen Hills.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bob cherished his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and many other family activities including attending his grandson’s basketball games. Bob was a proud Denver Broncos fan.
Bob is survived by Ursula, his wife of 53 years; daughters: Michele (Ron) Lee, Donna Bouziden, Lori (Shane) Anderson; grandchildren: Michael, Brian, Tommy, David, Joshuea, Shenea, Cole; and great-grandchildren: Ayden, Tristan, Blake, and Madison.
