Wilbert Kermit ""Bill""  Glynn
Wilbert K. “Bill” Glynn, age 75, a longtime resident of Manitou Springs, Colorado died early Sunday, January 2, 2011.
Bill was born on March 31, 1935, in Wykoff, MN to Robert G. and Gertrude (Krueger) Glynn. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church on April 19, 1935.
He graduated from Wykoff High School in 1953 and in 1958 graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Valparaiso University.
Bill served in the U.S Army Reserve for 26 years, spending most of his time in the 395th Medical Station Unit out of Gary, IN. He later worked for U.S. Steel, Taylor Forge, The Budd Company and was a manager at The Mason Jar Restaurant. He was co-founder of the non-profit charitable organization One Nation Walking Together, an organization committed to making a difference in the lives of American Indians.
Bill married MarySue Constine on August 31, 1958 and together raised their four children.
He later married Elaine (Provo) Humbracht on December 28, 1985.
Bill is survived by his wife and by children; Lisa (Matthew) Kell, Dayton, OH; Elliott (Katy) Glynn, Arlington Heights, IL; Phil (Debbie) Glynn, Colorado Springs, CO; Douglas (Natalie) Glynn, Plainfield, IL; and by his step-son, Ross Humbracht. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert W. (Kay) Glynn of Dubuque, IA and Sidney S. (Sharon) Glynn of Lakeland, FL and by grandchildren; Zachary, Jesse and Caleb Kell; Alex, Olivia and Caroline Glynn; Austin and Adam Glynn; Blake, Luke and Lauren Glynn; Nick, Tony and Katie Humbracht.
A Celebration of Remembrance Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 120 N. 31st Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.
In lieu of flowers, donations to One Nation Walking Together would continue Bill’s legacy of helping others.
