A Comforting Hand

My fondest memory of my "Aunt Cindy" is the time we went to see fireworks on the 4th of July. I have no idea how old I was but this is the first time I can ever remember seeing fireworks so I must have been pretty young. I remember being terrified of the noise and scared to death. I also remember crying and wanting my Mom or Dad, but they were miles away at home in NC. I remember Cindy holding me tight and giving me love and support. She never let me go the entire night which must have made her 4th of July miserable having to comfort me but she never complained about it. I am sure she said some comforting words but I do not remember them if she did. These gestures by my Aunt Cindy should be a lesson to all of us: Actions truly do speak louder than words.
